Botanical gelli printing with leaves

Gelli printing is a super versatile and accessible form of printing that can easily be done at home, as there's no need for a printing press. Using acrylic paints and a gel plate, this inexpensive technique lets you have fun with colour and mark making on an array of papers to create unique, one-of-a-kind monoprints full of texture and pattern.

During this workshop you'll explore how to use leaves with the gel plate to create layered images on different weights of paper, choosing from an array of coloured and metallic paints. You'll go home armed with prints, which can be stand-alone pieces or incorporated into your own artwork through collage, or scanned and used digitally.

Gelli printing, unlike many forms of printing, gives quite quick results, which makes it highly addictive!
