Artist Open House & Interactive Art Weekend at West Hove Studio
Join us at West Hove Studio for a colourful, creative and family-friendly Artist Open House and Interactive Art Weekend on 23-24 May, celebrating local artists, independent makers and hands-on workshops in Brighton and Hove.
Part of the much-loved May Artist Open House season, this special weekend brings together a curated mix of art, craft, design, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, illustration, print and family-friendly creative workshops, all in one light-filled studio space in West Hove.

A Colourful Artist Open House in Hove
West Hove Studio will be transformed into a lively creative hub for the weekend, showcasing a vibrant line-up of artists, designers and makers. Visitors can browse original artwork, contemporary craft, handmade jewellery, ceramics, textiles, prints, illustration and unique gifts, while meeting many of the people behind the work.
The exhibiting artists and makers include:
- Lili Toth - ceramics with character and statement ceramic jewellery
- Otti Shop - graphic textile art, tufted rugs, needle-punched rugs and wall hangings
- Jessica Ford - abstract art exploring colour
- Pinki Jones - vibrant screen printed garments and textiles
- Cassia Beck - contemporary collage art
- Kirsti Davidson - colourful prints and illustration inspired by vintage surface pattern, landscapes and landmarks
- Risza Jewellery - jewellery inspired by heritage, memory and adornment
- Georgia Flowers - lino and drypoint prints
- Rose Honey Design - jewellery inspired by nature
- The Bonniemob - colourful, sustainable organic baby and kids clothes
- Julie Withers - lively hand-drawn screen prints inspired by outdoor sketches and paintings
- Laura Danby - bold acrylic jewellery, mirrored signs and colourful gifts
- Made Sideways - one-off pictures and cards made from nostalgic found materials
- Lulu McQueen - modern precious jewellery by a jewellery designer and silversmith
- Onyx Studio - hand-poured colourful concrete homewares
- Pamelas Pod - ceramics inspired by nature
- Grace Fung - abstract art


Family-Friendly Workshops Across the Weekend
Alongside the exhibition, West Hove Studio is running a programme of family-friendly workshops in Brighton and Hove. These short creative sessions are designed to be relaxed, welcoming and suitable for beginners, with plenty of opportunities for children, parents, friends and solo makers to get involved.
Coloured Concrete Planter, Candlestick or Dish Workshop
Create your own colourful concrete homeware with Erin from Onyx Studio. In this hands-on workshop, you will explore colour mixing, pigment techniques, marbling and pouring methods to make a concrete planter, candlesticks or decorative dish.
This workshop is suitable for adults and children aged 9 and over with adult supervision. Finished pieces need 24 to 48 hours to cure and will be sealed by Erin before collection from the studio later in the week.

Family-Friendly Vintage Collage Workshop with Kate Van der Hage
Join Kate Van der Hage from Made Sideways for a relaxed collage workshop using typography, colour, vintage-style lexicon letter cards and found imagery. Create a personalised collage artwork using initials, letters and playful cut-and-paste techniques.
This is a lovely workshop for adults and children to enjoy together, with a reduced adult and child ticket option available.

Spend time designing and making your own handmade greeting cards using stencils, stamps and illustration techniques. This creative card making workshop is ideal for beginners, children and families who want a fun, accessible activity during the Artist Open House weekend.
